Pathology

The Department of Pathology acts as the gateway to the cancer centre. Its role on the diagnosis of cancer, subjects the patients to various treatment modalities and follow-up. It has several sections like Histopathology, IHC, Cytology, Hematology, Clinical Pathology, Biochemical Pathology and Microbiology. Besides the hospital laboratory services its staff participate in various Cancer Detection Camps.

This department is facilitated with the studies of Cytology, Histology, Biochemical, Hematology, Clinical pathology, Microbiology, Bone marrow basing on Standard treatment protocols. Twenty students take admission every year for DMLT course. Life Science and Biotechnology Students of different Universities are being trained in the department as project fellows. Four batches of three days State level training for Pathologists, Surgery specialists & Laboratory technicians of DHH on screening of cervical cancer were undertaken.
