Pain and Palliative Care
This unit provides prompt pain relief, immediate pain management, and palliative care through various service modalities to patients at any stage of their disease—particularly those who are terminally ill—with the goal of improving their quality of life. The services provided here have garnered regional recognition, which is reflected in the large influx of patients from various government and private medical colleges and hospitals across Eastern India.
Furthermore, Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC) certification courses are conducted across two annual sessions for
- The diagnosis and treatment of female genital tract malignancies;
- The diagnosis and proper treatment of premalignant lesions;
- Routine screening of the female population for the early diagnosis of cervical cancer amongst patients attending the center's outpatient department (OPD);
- Assistance with Mobile Cancer Detection Camps for the screening of patients;
- The teaching and training of M.Ch. students;
- The training of postgraduate students, in-service doctors, and paramedical workers;
- Gynecologic oncology training for post-postgraduate (post-PG) faculty members;
- Undertaking research projects as priority.
